About Andrew

I started my yoga journey over 15 years ago. I was immediately drawn to the simultaneous mental and physical connection that yoga provided me.   After several years of practice, I decided to deepen my knowledge of yoga and completed my teacher training certification (Teach your Truth at Elevate Yoga, YYT 200) in 2019.

I believe that yoga contributes to our overall well-being by allowing us to develop a practice of connection with our mind and body that will serve us both on and off the mat. We can use our breath and movement to work through stress – at times we practice compassion with ourselves by slowing our breath down, accepting that our body requires gentle movement and perhaps more stillness. Other times it may be helpful to challenge ourselves, to use our breath to move and adjust into poses that may be more difficult. I believe these are skills that serve us outside the yoga studio.

My teaching style is focused on creating a safe and inclusive space for students of all levels, ages, and body types to explore their practice. I believe that yoga is a powerful tool for cultivating self-awareness and inner peace. I am attracted to all branches of yoga and elements of many different practices may show up in the classes I teach. Generally speaking, the classes I lead could fall under the category of Hatha-Flow.

Outside of yoga, I am a lover of the outdoors. During the winter I enjoy skiing (both downhill and cross-country). In the summer I enjoy hiking, camping, and golf. I am also an avid reader and always looking for book recommendations!

I am also part of the recovery community and I invite anyone to reach out if they are interested to know how yoga has helped me in my recovery.
